Bellport Varsity Football is quite simply one of the top high school football programs in our nation. Tom Howard, former coach and now Athletic Director at Farmingdale High School, stated, "Bellport Football is the measuring stick for Long Island Football!" The "Junk Yard Dogs" are known for their aggressive play and punishing hitting. The offense is multiple and the defense features an odd and even front. The Clippers have won numerous championships including League, Section, County, Long Island and New York State titles. Bellport Football has been ranked nationally 3 times. Feature stories about Bellport Football teams and players have been in USA Today, NY Times, NY Post, Sports Illustrated, Newsday, Street & Smith, College Football Today, Sporting News, Daily News, The Long Island Advance, The Record and many other magazines and papers including college publications. Bellport Football has been on TV (Ch 6, Ch 7, Ch 12, ESPN, LISN, etc.) many times.

"Bellport Traces Line of Success".....(Newsday - 9/13/98) --- The numbers are astounding. One by one, the football players walked out of the Bellport locker room on their way to the practice field. It seemed like the line of players would never end. More than 100 athletes had........

"Two Seniors Carry Load At Bellport".....(NY Times - 10/26/97) --- It was the kind of scene that exemplifies the camaraderie between William Griffin and Micah Barnes, two of Long Island's finest halfbacks, who happen to share the same position. Last Saturday.....

"Bellport Sows Another Title".....(Newsday - 11/24/96) --- E.I., E.I. - 0. With a stifling defense, Bellport - Long Island's football team of the 1990s - shut out rival East Islip in a Suffolk Division II final before 4,500 fans at Bellport. Even more impressive.....

"Cipps Off The Old Block".....(Newsday - 9/15/96) --- There is this picture. It is on the wall of his den. Joe Cipp is kneeling on one knee. His hair is longer and he is younger.....

"Berrios Has A Dream".....(Newsday - 11/30/95) --- For many kids growing up in Bellport, being a part of the high school football team brings a special feeling. Ask anyone  who has ever worn the red, royal and white colors and played.....

The Union-Endicott Game (Newsday - various dates 1990) --- Reflect back on one of the most awesome games in Bellport Football history....The 1990 Union-Endicott Game....Coach Cipp said, "Their Band was bigger than our whole school !!!" Do you know who won?

"The Story of CLIPPER the Junk-yard Dog".....(Bellport Football) --- It was late August in 1982 when the Bellport Clippers started double sessions. About halfway through practice, one of the players noticed a dirty, little dog that smelled.....
